OBJECTS OF BASB
   
To promote the welfare of ex-servicemen and their families.
   
To promote and publicise recruiting drives for the armed forces.
   
To safeguard the interest of servicemen and their families in matters to be dealt with by the civilian authorities.
   
To formulate and sponsor plans for the rehabilitation/re-employment of the ex-servicemen and their families.
   
To maintain and administer welfare of charitable fund and institution for the welfare of ex-servicemen.
   
To watch that the concessions granted to ex-servicemen and their families are made available to the beneficiaries by the parties concerned.

Organize and monitor Ex-Servicemen’s Associations
Vocational training for ex-Servicemen
Development of Civil and military relations
Holding of ex-servicemen’s rallies
Welfare posters, pamphlets, publications, periodicals and information notes etc, for ex-Servicemen
Formation of Co-operative Industrial Centres, Co-operative Farming Societies etc, for ex-Servicemen

FUNCTIONS OF CENTRAL BOARD
 
01. The Board shall meet at least once a year and often if the business warrants to decide all major policy issues
02. Notice for the meeting shall be given to the members at least 30 days in advance
03. Every member of the board is entitled to suggest items for inclusion in the agenda
04. One third members shall constitute the quorum
05. The Chairman or in his absence the Vice-Chairman shall preside over the meetings
06.
The Secretary shall of the responsible for maintaining a correct record of the proceedings of the meetings and for circulation of the same soon after the meeting.

A released/retired Officer/JCO of the Army or of equivelant rank of the Navy or Air Force to be appointed by the Ministry of Defence on the recommendation of the Director of bangladesh Armed Services Board. He will be a temporary Government Servant with status of an officer in conformity with his pay scale.

FUNCTIONS OF DISTRICT BOARD
 
01.
The members of the Board, Secretary and its staff shall collectively and individually strive to acheve the objects. Detailed instructions for the purpose shall be issued by or with the approval of Central Board from time to time.
02.
The primary responsibility for the efficient running of the office of the District Armed Services Board rests with the Secretary.
03.
The Secretary shall receive directive from the Director in confinity with the instructions and policy as laid down by the Central Board and will not as an adviser to the Diroctor for the implamentation of such Directives. The Central Board may address District Armed Services Board directly on all as such matters. As may be considered necessary.
